Two years ago, we supported Williams Racing FW44 launch, delivering a slick event that set the tone for the season ahead.
Fast forward to 2024, and we were back in action for the FW47 launch—but this time, the challenge shifted gears.
Originally planned as a live event in two garages at the iconic Silverstone, the FW47 launch quickly transformed into a live televised broadcast for Sky Sports F1 presented by broadcaster Steve Jones, to officially announce its new Global sponsor, Atlassian.
The televised show featured a live interview with Atlassian Williams Boss, James Vowles, racing pundits Jensen Button and Naomi Ship, and Atlassian Williams drivers Alex Alban and Carlos Sainz Jr.
For the production team at TPP, this meant a rapid rethink of the initial production setup, including:
- Adding real-time lighting adjustments for TV-quality visuals.
- Last minute set modifications to align with broadcast framing.
- Seamless coordination with the Sky Sports team to ensure the setup met the expectations of both the sponsors and the broadcast team.
- We experienced issues with rigging points & rigging height, meaning that positions of trusses & lights were not ideal.
With quick thinking and an experienced crew, we adapted on the fly, ensuring a flawless broadcast while keeping the high production values we delivered for the FW44 launch back in 2022.
The result? A dynamic, high-impact launch that looked incredible on screen and in person.
