The Production People installed the event lighting for AWS, as part of an exclusive dinner to mark the British Grand Prix 2021.

Over the British Grand Prix weekend, the clients of Amazon Web Services (AWS) enjoyed exclusive access to a panel of Formula One royalty and top names in motoring journalism.

After a day at Silverstone race circuit, the AWS guests were welcomed to an evening meal at The Grove Hotel in Watford, Hertfordshire. It was at this venue that The Production People brought to life the creative vision of experiential brand agency, This Is Fury. Using the client’s design we specified and installed the lighting equipment for this VIP event.

AWS Welcomed Exclusive Motorsport Panel to the Stage

A small stage was built in the dining suite to host the VIP motorsport panel in a live and exclusive discussion for the AWS guests. 

Among the panel were racing legend, Mark Webber; renowned F1 engineer, Rob Smedley; and the production manager of Netflix’s Drive to Survive, Tom Rogers. Renowned female racing driver, presenter and motoring journalist, Vicky Butler-Henderson was the lead in the panel discussion.

During the course of the evening, the panel debated the race highlights from Saturday’s Grand Prix qualifying and mini sprint qualifying, as well as their predictions for Sunday’s finale.

The Event Lighting for AWS 

The Production People provided the full technical production and event lighting for the exclusive AWS event at The Grove Hotel in Watford, Hertfordshire. 

While this was a relatively small space, the pre-built stage was large enough for four chairs, and the set featured a centrally mounted 104-inch LED screen.  As the event lighting supplier, we rigged five Astera Titan Tubes vertically either side of the screen. These mirrored three large black frames located parallel to the stage. The frames housed double height Titan Tubes, which added contrast and depth to the dining suite.

The Event Lighting Equipment

The Astera LED Titan Tubes played a significant part in the overall event lighting design. The LED tubes were programmed individually to meet the contemporary scheme and could be controlled to provide a range of hues.

The Titan Tube LED light is an impactful attribute to any event or stage. It emits a significantly vibrant colour, which is ideal for day and evening events.

This clever battery-operated LED tube offers a range of looks, thanks to its ultra-powerful colour rendering. Each tube has 16 coloured pixels, which can be controlled individually, or as group. The tuneable white is equally powerful with a range of 1,750k to 20,000k.

The remaining event lighting comprised Martin ELP CL LED profiles, which we used to light the stage. 

All the lighting equipment was controlled by an Avolite Tiger Touch using four full universes of DMX.

The event lighting certainly captured the scene of this invigorating weekend of motor racing for the AWS guests.
